Three KOR clients shortlisted for top South West property awards
Three clients of KOR Communications, each working on very different development projects, have made the shortlist in their sector for a prestigious property award.
Housebuilder Cavanna Homes, hotel specialists The Fragrance Group and urban homes builder Water Lane Development Management Company (DMC), are all in line to take top honours at the Michelmores Property Awards 2023.
The awards will be presented at a ceremony at the Sandy Park Conference Centre, Exeter, on June 22nd.
The KOR Communications’ clients shortlisted have produced a range of significant projects identified by the Michelmores’ judges for their quality and innovation.
Devon-based Cavanna Homes has been recognised for their scheme, Cavanna@ Wolborough Hill, a luxury development of high-end three, four and five-bedroom homes inspired by the Arts and Crafts movement, set on a prominent hillside site near Newton Abbot.
The scheme is one of only four developments in the South West to be recognised by the judging panel in the category ‘Residential Project of the Year (35 homes and under)’ for delivering the finest new housing development in the region over the past year.
The Fragrance Group’s recently opened Mercure Hotel on Paignton seafront is shortlisted in the Leisure and Tourism Project of the Year category. The 161-bedroom four-star hotel boasts restaurants, a gym and spa and is, the judges agreed, worthy of its exceptional South Devon esplanade location.
Exeter’s Water Lane DMC is working on the regeneration of a large area of under-used and semi-derelict land at Water Lane, alongside the Exeter Canal. Once complete the project, shortlisted in the Masterplanning for the Future category, will create a new neighbourhood of up to 1,000 homes, integrated with and adding to adjoining residential areas.
It seeks to make the best use of the brownfield land to help address the city’s housing, social and economic needs.
KOR Communications Managing Director Annette Richman said:
We are delighted that three of our highly valued clients have been recognised for their innovative approach in bringing forward three very different development projects. The Michelmores Property Awards are highly prestigious and winning a place on the shortlist in each of these categories is a huge achievement and a well-deserved endorsement of the quality of the work undertaken in each case.
The 2023 Michelmores Property Awards marks 20 years of celebrating the best property, development and construction projects in the South West and will bring together all those who contribute to the region’s property, real estate and construction sector.
The awards have long championed sustainability and innovation in the sector and the sustainable, social, environmental and economic values of the projects are at the heart of the judging criteria.
