Two decades of placemaking through the eyes of The Benyon Estate's tenants

Two decades of placemaking through the eyes of The Benyon Estate's tenants

KOR Communications devised and delivered a tenant film series for The Benyon Estate, the family-run urban estate in De Beauvoir Town and London arm of the Englefield Estate. A single two-day shoot with four tenant households produced three films, a written feature and social clips which were all released in February 2026 and watched by tens of thousands online.

The project

The Benyon Estate in East London's De Beauvoir Town is a family-owned and family-run urban estate. It is part of the Englefield Estates based in Berkshire, known for its 19th century houses, wide tree-lined streets and village atmosphere a short walk from the City. Since 2018, we have supported the Estate with strategic communications and PR.

At the end of 2025, the Estate wanted to highlight what 20 years of placemaking has done for De Beauvoir Town, told not in its own words but through its tenants', drawing on relationships that in some cases span nine decades. For a landlord, that is a test few are willing to set themselves, since a tenant on camera cannot be scripted, and the campaign's credibility rested entirely on the strength of the relationships behind it.

Our approach

Working closely with the Estate team, we identified and approached residential tenants whose stories carried the changing face of De Beauvoir Town, and secured the participation of four households in a series exploring life on The Benyon Estate.

We planned the series so that a single two-day shoot on the Estate delivered the full campaign.

The outcome

Across two days on site, we produced three filmed tenant case studies, interviewed a fourth tenant for a written feature and captured the footage needed to cut shorter clips for each social channel. The full films were released on the Estate's website in February 2026, with shorter clips optimised and distributed across the Estate's social media channels, drawing in tens of thousands of views online. The series now sits at the heart of how the Estate presents itself to prospective tenants, neighbours and the wider property community.
