BESS planning application unanimously approved

A 57MW Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) brought forward by EDF Renewables won unanimous approval from members of East Devon District Council’s planning committee this month.

KOR Communications were engaged by EDF Renewables (Pivoted Power LLP) to undertake a programme of engagement with the local community and representatives, and to produce a Statement of Community Involvement in support of the planning application.

We also provided public affairs intelligence as the application progressed through the planning system.

The BESS, close to the Exeter substation, will help in the transition to a net zero electricity system and support national energy security.
