KOR adopts a stone at Exeter Cathedral
KOR Communications, based in Exeter for almost twenty years, is proud to be among supporters of the first major building project at Exeter Cathedral for 500 years.
Through the Adopt a Stone project, KOR made a donation to the Cathedral’s new Friends’ Cloister Gallery which opened in November 2025.
The new cloister provides a beautiful and accessible space for events, connecting the Cathedral with the 13th century chapter house. It was constructed on the original foundations of the medieval cloisters which were demolished in 1657, following damage caused during the English Civil War.
KOR Communications’ Managing Director Annette Richman said: “As a specialist consultancy we represent a number of land and property businesses across the country many of which are custodians of important historic buildings, often dating back centuries.
“We are proud to support this project to enhance the Cathedral which has stood at the heart of Exeter for almost 1,000 years.”
The work to create the new gallery was led by the Friends of Exeter Cathedral, an independent charity founded in 1929 to help preserve and improve the building and its furnishings. A £1m donation came from the charity to help towards the building cost, with further funding coming from The National Lottery Heritage Fund.
Individuals and businesses from in and around Exeter provided further financial support through the Adopt a Stone initiative. Donors receive a special certificate to identify the exact location of ‘their’ stone in the building.
Annette added: “We’re really looking forward to visiting the new Friends’ Cloister Gallery and to see how our contribution has played a part in this project. It is a great initiative by the Cathedral to strengthen an already strong relationship between the city, community, its businesses and the Cathedral.”
