Seven years of producing the annual Englefield Echo
Seven years of producing the annual Englefield Echo
Since 2019, KOR Communications has planned, written, photographed and produced the Englefield Echo, the annual review of the Englefield Estate in Berkshire, The Benyon Estate in London and Glenmazeran in the Scottish Highlands. Each edition runs to 40 pages and is managed from first editorial meeting to finished print.
The project
The Englefield Echo is the annual review of the Englefield Estate in Berkshire, The Benyon Estate in De Beauvoir Town, London and Glenmazeran in the Scottish Highlands, telling the story of a year across three very different estates in a single publication.
KOR took on its production in 2019, drawing on our team's expertise in editorial content and design, using the skills of people who understand how to shape stories, conduct meaningful interviews, write well and lay-out pages of pictures, headlines and copy professionally and with impact. KOR has produced the Echo for seven consecutive years, publishing at the end of each calendar year.
Our approach
We manage the production of the Echo from the first editorial meeting to the finished publication, planning the content, conducting interviews, writing the features and taking much of the photography, while also managing the design, which is outsourced to a trusted partner, and overseeing print production.
Each edition carries its own theme and runs to around 40 pages, covering the full breadth of the estates' activities and the outcomes for communities, the environment and the economy. The 2025 edition, Behind The Scenes, told the story of Englefield House serving as the principal location, the retirement village Coopers Chase, in Netflix's The Thursday Murder Club, released in August 2025. Earlier editions have covered everything from the conversion of a Grade II listed sawmill into the new energy-efficient Estate Office to the estates' landscape-scale environmental work.
The outcome
The Echo is shared with estate staff, residential and commercial tenants, local councillors, key stakeholders, rural colleges and universities, and other estates across the country, giving the three estates a single voice to every audience that matters to them.
For the estates, it is the chance each year to highlight innovative work, recognise the people behind it and demonstrate the difference the estates make to the environment, their communities and some of the UK's biggest challenges, from housing to energy and food security. After seven editions, the Echo has become part of how the estates report to the audiences around them, and the relationship sits within KOR's 17-year retained partnership with the Englefield Estate.

The Englefield Echo is produced by KOR Communications, which has delivered the annual review of the Englefield Estate in Berkshire, The Benyon Estate in London and Glenmazeran in the Scottish Highlands every year since 2019. KOR plans the content, conducts the interviews, writes the features, takes much of the photography and oversees design and print, publishing at the end of each calendar year.

An annual review gives an estate a single voice to every audience that matters to it. The Englefield Echo is shared with estate staff, tenants, local councillors, key stakeholders, rural colleges and universities, and other estates across the country, and each roughly 40-page edition highlights the estates' work on the environment, housing, energy and food security, and the people behind it.

The Englefield Echo covers the full breadth of the estates' work: farming, forestry and heritage in Berkshire and the Highlands, residential and commercial property in De Beauvoir Town, landscape-scale environmental work, and the people behind it. Each edition carries its own theme, such as Behind The Scenes in 2025, which told the story of Englefield House appearing in Netflix's The Thursday Murder Club.
